Our team had great success last Saturday with all three of our auctions selling on the day. A vacant block of land at 156 McKillop Street, Geelong sold for an impressive $120,000 over reserve with spirited bidding from 3 parties. The other properties – 26 Crofton Street, Geelong West (a character Californian bungalow) and 11 Karrakatta Grove, Highton (a modern 2 storey home with panoramic views) also sold on the day to the delight of our vendors and the successful buyers.
This 100% success rate is indicative of the trend we have seen over the last few weeks. After a slight pause (post federal election and throughout winter) the market is adjusting as buyers get out in the warmer weather and take advantage of the greater variety of properties available.
Maxwell Collins is approaching its 30th year and we have experienced these cycles and trends repeatedly. What remains constant is the strength of the Geelong market, which consistently defies the gloomy predictions as one of the best performing regions in the country.
Have a great weekend!
Until next week
