The Rush for Land

In the past few months it has been interesting  to note that land sales throughout the Geelong region have remained buoyant in these extraordinary times.  We have had a strong and steady stream of buyer enquiry and our sales rates have remained on a par with those of previous years.

This might be due to the fact that there is often no need for a physical inspection of land before buying (which would have been difficult during lockdown) but we believe it’s also as a result of the confidence in the Geelong market and the desirability of Geelong as a great place to live and work.

In the past week of so the steady stream of enquiry has turned into a surge as people rush to take advantage of the HomeBuilder scheme recently announced which could see first home buyers getting $45,000 in grants, in addition to stamp duty exemptions.

This latest $25,000 stimulus package has an end date – 31 December, 2020 – so to qualify you need to be quick and that means buying land that is already titled and ready to build on.

We have land estates with blocks ready to build on in Highton, Lovely Banks and St Leonards. If you think you quality for one or all of these incentives we would be happy to hear from you.

Until next week,

Nick Lord (Director)
