As of yesterday, regional Victoria is back to Stage 3 restrictions for 6 weeks, after what has been a positive selling period since the last lockdown, with buyers active in the market, plenty of interest at our opens and auction properties and almost record levels of land sold by Maxwell Collins.
Thankfully for the industry, real estate is deemed an essential service and whilst our physical office will remain closed, our agents and property managers will continue to actively service the needs of our buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants remotely from the office. There will be a return to private inspections only (no open houses) with a maximum of one person to be shown through at a time and social distancing, masks and contact details required for every inspection.
Existing auctions will be conducted via Zoom and we welcome any discussion with interested buyers to help them with these new arrangements. All bidders at our auctions will be required to register prior so that we can ensure they are onboard with the online auction process.
Whilst 6 weeks can seem like a lifetime, especially with our freedoms so restricted, I have confidence we will get on top of this situation within that time frame and enjoy a return to some semblance of normality in time for a bumper spring selling season.
