Here in Geelong, the real estate market is active all year round. Unlike our metropolitan counterparts in Melbourne who tend to shut down for the first few weeks of January and resume with auctions scheduled for mid February, we are back on deck on the 3rd of January to meet the steady demand of buyers which continues deep into December and right through January.
Having time off work, school and sporting commitments tends to free up buyers to accelerate their search and January also provides the best opportunity for those seeking a move to regional to invest the time to visit and see all that our great city has to offer. Our sales team over the years have been known conclude sales on Christmas Eve, with negotiations proceeding late into the night. They have had calls on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day. From a buyer’s point of view, having made the big decision to purchase, it’s almost impossible to stop scouring the major real estate websites, looking for that ideal property.
