The Challenges Ahead

It’s a bit hard to talk about anything other than the Coronavirus, with saturation news coverage, hourly updates on the infection and death rate, the shortages in supermarkets, the cancellation of major events and the disappointment and frustration of the many who have opted for caution and postponed or cancelled much anticipated overseas travel.

And now with Geelong recording its first case, this crisis has finally hit close to home.We are going about our business as usual but will be mindful of the current situation, and watch carefully for any worsening or acceleration of the crisis in our region and any mandates that might come from government in relation to industry and work practices.

Times like these call for a calm, measured approach. The world has weathered crisis after crisis and will undoubtedly recover from this one. In the meantime though, it is incumbent upon each of us to be mindful of not only our own personal safety but also the wellbeing of others. A crisis tends to bring out the best in people as we have seen already from the front line medical teams fighting this head on.

Stay safe and have a good weekend.

Until next week,

Nick Lord (Director)
