Geelong is a fantastic town to live and work in. You can drive from one end to the other within 20 minutes and to the beaches of the Bellarine and Surf Coast within a similar time frame, all without the frustrations associated with city living. For both buyers and renters, real estate remains affordable and the burgeoning Armstrong Creek precinct is continuing to add infrastructure and employment in the construction and retail sectors.
It’s heartening to watch the revitalisation of the CBD against the backdrop of the magnificent waterfront where locals and visitors gather in their hundreds at the first glimpse of sunshine, supporting local business as they enjoy a great day out. Families in the western suburbs of Melbourne in particular favour Geelong for their summer outings.
Next weekend sees the spectacular Festival of Sails get underway. This event was established in 1844 and is still going strong. The Nightjar Festival will run in Johnstone’s Park every Friday night throughout February and offers a vibrant mix of music, food and market stalls.
So there is really no need to venture far to enjoy a great day or night out. Geelong has so much to offer, right here on our doorstep.
Until next week,
Nick Lord (Director)
