Choosing an Agent

Choosing the right real estate agent is one of the most important decisions you will make. The right agent will be experienced, enthusiastic, will know your area back to front and will be aware of recent market trends so as to be able to give you the most accurate market estimate for your property.

The right agent knows his or her own value and their ability to negotiate a fair fee for the skill level and expertise they offer will be an indication of the negotiation skills they will bring to the table when negotiating with buyers for your property.  Agents who undervalue their own services in order to obtain the business and undercut their competitors will have no hesitation doing the same to your property in order to affect a quick sale.  The same agent will often inflate the price of your property to gain your signature on the listing and then immediately set about pressuring for a price reduction.

At Maxwell Collins we have a reputation built over almost 30 years of providing the most accurate estimate of your property, based on our own experience in the market and detailed analysis of recent sales in your area.  We will never inflate the price of a property to obtain the listing and having got it, we will use every tool and technique at our disposal to get the best price possible which will often mean negotiating a higher figure for our vendors than we know they will accept.  If your agent isn’t doing the same they are not the right agent.
