'Tis the Season

December is nearly upon us. And that means Christmas functions, kids’ Christmas parties, carols, festive get togethers, Christmas church celebrations and more. At this hectic time of year when we are rushing about attending all these events and buying presents for our family and friends it is worthwhile to reflect on the spirit of Christmas and how we can help those less fortunate. One way is through our Bethany Christmas Tree, located here in our reception area, where we ask for presents to be donated for children of all age groups from baby through to late adolescence, which will be collected by Bethany Child and Family Services and distributed to families in need. Our staff are always very generous this time of the year but we also ask for the support of the public as the number of families requiring assistance seems to rise by an alarming number each and every year.

We are pleased to be supporting several Christmas events this year - Carols at Leopold Primary School on 8th December, Carols at Barrabool Hills Baptist Church on 9th December, Osborne Park Carols at Centenary Hall on 9th December and a Family Christmas Celebration at the Salvation Army at 180 Francis Street, Belmont on 16th December. Hopefully you can get along to one of these events. The Salvation Army Celebration in particular will have great appeal for the kids with train rides, jumping castle, show bags, face painting, sausage sizzle and lots more.

Until next week,
Nick Lord
